The Word across Canada (June 16)

Every week we want to bring to your attention expository, Gospel-centred sermons from Pastors across Canada. We hope that you become familiar with some of the faithful ministers of the word in our nation. We also hope that you will be edified on your daily commute or whenever you listen to these messages. We lastly hope that you learn about the churches where these pastors minister, so that you can easily find Gospel-centered, expository churches in your region.

John Neufeld on 3 John

John Neufeld recently preached at Cloverdale Baptist Church on 3 John. His message was titled “Walking in Truth”. He showed that walking in truth involves showing love for the brothers, rejecting pride, and imitating good. You can hear the audio here or the video here.

George Sinclair on Genesis 8:20-9:29

George Sinclair delivered a message on Genesis 8 and 9, entitled “God’s Promises to Every Living Thing”. The main idea of his message is that “God has promised that He will never let human beings make the world uninhabitable for human beings. The living God is the source of life, the sustainer of life, and sovereign over life”. Click here to see the message outline and to hear the message.

Clint Humfrey on Matthew 5:14-16; Mark 4:21; Luke 8:16 and 11:14

Clint Humfrey’s message is titled “Lamp Under a Basket?: The Disciples’ Witness For The Dark World”. “In a world of darkness and shame is it appropriate to keep the blessing of gospel enlightenment for ourselves and not others? Should we enjoy the benefit of salvation in Christ and become hoarders of blessing rather than sharers? Jesus’ illustration of the lamp and the basket reminds us of what our purpose in life really is”.

Clint unfolds his sermon with three points: (1) The Absence of Light: A Dark World, (2) The Effect of Light: Dispelling Darkness, and (3) The Purpose of Light: To See and Worship God. To listen, click here.

Paul Martin on Exodus 3-4

Pastor Martin speaks of how “God always comes in the right way, at the right time, providing all that is needed as he uses the people he calls”. Click here to see the sermon outline and to listen.
