Every week we want to bring to your attention expository, Gospel-centred sermons from pastors across Canada. We hope that you become familiar with some of the faithful ministers of the word in our nation. We also hope that you will be edified on your daily commute or whenever you listen to these messages. We lastly hope that you learn about the churches where these pastors minister, so that you can easily find Gospel-centered, expository churches in your region.

George Sinclair on Galatians 6:6-18 (Ottawa)

Why does the Bible warn us about “mocking God?”  Is this something real Christians ever do or is it only talking about pseudo Christians? Why does the Bible seem to talk about money so often? Does this encourage us to be preoccupied with money? Is the idea of “Hell” something invented by the church? And why does the Bible say that boasting is so important? Paul touches on all of these matters as he brings the Book of Galatians to a close. This week George Sinclair looks at Galatians 6:6-18, and the importance of boasting.

Steve Kim on Exodus 1-14 (Toronto)

Steve Kim preached from Exodus 1-14 as the start of our Christmas series, “He Will Save His People.” Slavery is not a thing of the past, nor is it something that’s only happening in other parts of the world. Slavery is still all around us and in us. We are all slaves to sin until Jesus Christ sets us free through the power of the gospel.

Clint Humfrey on Philippians 1:15-18 (Calgary)

It’s been said that truly some may preach Christ better, but they can’t preach a better Christ. If this is the case then God can work through imperfect instruments. Someone can be saved through faith in Christ, in spite of the ministry motives of the minister. But how should Christians view each others’ ministries? And what does it mean to rejoice in the face of rivalry. Paul tells us in this passage given for our instruction.

Here are the sermon’s main points of Rejoicing Before Rivalry:

  1. Two Ministry Motives
  2. Can Christ Be Proclaimed with Wrong Motives?
  3. Rejoicing Before Rivalry

Rob Godard on Matthew 5:17-18 (Surrey)

In our text, it is very clear to why He came – He came not to abolish, but to fulfill.  Jesus is very clear here, to the question of why He came….He came not to abolish, but to fulfill …. THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS!

The main points of the message are:

  1. The Old Testament is Valuable
  2. The Old Testament is about Jesus
  3. God Always Keeps His Word

And we apply this by Valuing God’s Word, By Valuing who Jesus is and by Trusting Him at His Word,

This Christmas, let us not miss this treasured reality!  Jesus is THE FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS!

Brad Morrice on Luke 1:39-55 (Montreal)

This week, we get three encouragements from the life of Mary, mother of Jesus, in connection with her song in the text of Luke 1. How can we sing as Mary did so with gratitude to God? We see that Mary had a narrow vision of her blessings, a deep sense of indignity, and a firm trust in the promises of God.
